Ingredients


  • 120g raw lean ground beef

  • 50g brown onion, grated (using a paper towel, squeeze out excess water)

  • 70g carrot, grated

  • 0.7 oz egg yolk

  • 1 garlic clove, crushed

  • 1 tsp. paprika

  • 1 tsp. dried basil

  • 30g romaine lettuce, chopped

  • 60g cucumber, chopped

  • 60g red bell pepper, chopped

  • 60g reduced fat feta cheese

  • 5ml extra virgin olive oil

  • 15ml balsamic vinegar


Optional

  • Tomatoes

  • Onions

  • Pickles

Preparation


Makes 4 patties

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees and line a baking tray with baking paper.


  2. Combine the ground beef, grated onion, carrot, egg yolk, garlic, paprika, and basil.


  3. Season with Himalayan salt and pepper.


  4. Form the beef patties and place on the tray.


  5. Bake the beef patties in the oven for 15 minutes or until the beef is cooked in the center.


  6. While the beef patties are cooking, add the romaine lettuce, cucumber, red peppers, optional items, and feta in a bowl.


  7. Drizzle the olive oil and vinegar over the top.


  8. Add the beef patties on top and serve.
