Hello Operation Flourish Fam!

Finally, October is National Down Syndrome Awareness Month! This celebration started in the 1980s to promote acceptance and inclusion for people with Down syndrome. It’s a joyful time to celebrate abilities, not limitations, and to honor the incredible value of every person.

This month is special because it reminds us that everyone deserves the opportunity to flourish. Inclusion, kindness, and understanding help build communities where everyone can thrive.

Here are 3 ways to get involved:

  • Attend or support a local awareness walk to show your encouragement.

  • Educate others about Down syndrome and the importance of inclusion.

  • Spread positivity: Use social media to highlight stories that celebrate diversity and strength.

Operation Flourish embraces lifting each other up so we can all flourish. Every person’s journey looks different, and that’s what makes our community so beautiful.

Cheerfully yours,

Kayla Myers

P.S. Post a photo wearing yellow and blue this month to show your support for inclusion and awareness!
