Hey Operation Flourish Fam!

With the beautiful days of June upon us, it’s the perfect time to talk about joyful movement, a cornerstone of #ChooseHealth! While May might have been National Physical Fitness and Sports Month, June invites us to take that energy outdoors and infuse our movement with the natural joy of the season. Forget the idea that exercise has to be confined to a gym; the world outside is your playground!

Joyful movement is all about finding activities that genuinely uplift your spirit, get your body moving, and leave you feeling energized and positive. And what better way to tap into positive emotions than by connecting with nature?

Here are some ideas to infuse your June with outdoor joyful movement:

  • Nature Walks/Hikes: Explore a local park, nature trail, or even just your neighborhood. Pay attention to the sights, sounds, and smells around you. It's a wonderful way to combine physical activity with mindfulness.

  • Cycling Adventures: Dust off your bike and hit the trails or explore new parts of your town. Cycling offers a fantastic cardio workout and a sense of freedom.

  • Outdoor Yoga/Pilates: Many studios offer outdoor classes, or you can simply unroll your mat in your backyard or a quiet park for a rejuvenating session under the open sky.

  • Playful Sports: Gather some friends or family for a game of frisbee, soccer, or even just a fun game of tag. Reconnect with your inner child!

  • Gardening: Yes, gardening is movement! Digging, planting, weeding – it's all physical activity that connects you with nature and can be incredibly fulfilling.

The goal isn't to hit a certain number on your fitness tracker, but to move in ways that make you feel good, invigorated, and connected to the world around you. Let’s soak up the sun and embrace the joy of movement this June!

Cheerfully yours,

Kayla Myers
